FEBRUARY 2012

The Pickus Infant/Toddler Center located at the AOEC is having a Valentine Day Celebration on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.  Please come out and meet the Teen Parents and learn about the Center!  RSVP: Pam Hoover 847-625-7915

JANUARY 2012

The AOEC will be holding a Health Fair sponsored by the YWCA on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.  The health fair will run in the morning for all students.

 

NOVEMBER 2011

The Pickus Infant and Toddler Center located in the AOEC is having a Pie Tasting Event on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 11:30am - 1:00pm.  Please come and enjoy and support the Pickus Center!  There will also be a raffle!

 

On Wednesday, November 16th, Mr. David McGuire, from Lincoln Tech will be giving an introductory presentation at the AOEC in Room 32.
All Juniors & Seniors are invited to this presentation.  There will be two sessions, one at 11:30 am, and one at 1:00pm. Each session will last approximately one 1 hour.

The AOEC is holding a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 10:00am-2:00pm in the AOEC Gym.  Please come join us and help save a life!

 

OCTOBER 2011

A CLC Presentation for AOEC Juniors and Seniors is being held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 11:00a-12:15p in the AOEC Library.  Dave Martinez from CLC will be speaking about CLC and an opportunity for some students to take a college prerequisites course on writing for college at AOEC.  For those who qualify, the course will be free.

Twilight School begins on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.  Intakes/Registration is being held Tuesday, October 4th and Wednesday, October 5th in the Twilight School Office at the AOEC from 4:00 - 6:30 PM.

AOEC Saturday School for the 2011-2012 school year began on Saturday, October 1, 2011.  For a complete list of dates for the whole school year please see the Programs Schedule section.  If you are interested in signing up, please contact the AOEC Main Office at (847) 360-5540.

 

AUGUST 2011

Welcome to 2011-2012 School Year AOEC students!  We look forward to seeing those returning and those new faces!  Great things are going to be accomplished this year.  Lets go for it!

JUNE 2011

The AOEC is holding two Summer School sessions this year for AOEC students.  The cost is $25 per student and sign up is done in the AOEC Main Office.  Session 1 is from June 10, 2011 through June 30, 2011.  Session 2 is from July 5, 2011 through July 28, 2011.  Class times for both sessions is 8:00am-12:00pm.

 

MAY 2011

The AOEC is holding its Spring Blood Drive with The Red Cross on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 10:00a to 2:30p.  If you are interested in giving blood, please speak to any AOEC student council representative or Mr. Kevin Kelleher, AOEC Social Worker.  If we reach 30 pints we will be able to award a scholarship to a graduating senior. We are about half way to our yearly goal.   Thanks for your support!

 

JANUARY 2011

On Wednesday, January 19, 2011, the YWCA will be holding a health fair at the AOEC.  It will take place from 8:30a -12:30p.

OCTOBER 2010

Twilight Program Begins

The Twilight program begins on Monday, October 4, 2010 for the 2010-2011 school year.  The Twilight program is an evening alternative program held at the AOEC building Monday through Thursday from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  Please contact Carol Oliva, Secretary, at (847) 360-5540 during those hours for information or to fill out an application.

 

Tardy Policy

Beginning Monday, October 4, 2010, the AOEC is implementing a new Tardy Policy.  All classroom doors will be locked at 8:00 A.M. for morning session and 1:00 P.M. for afternoon session.  Any students that arrive after those times will be sent to the office to fill out a tardy tag.  The student will return to their class with both the tardy tag and the tardy pass where the teacher will review them with the student for methods of improving on time performance.  Each teacher will maintain the pass and tags for parent conferences if needed.

 

SEPTEMBER 2010

On Tuesday, Sept. 14th, at 11:30 am, and 1:30pm, in Room 13, Sharice Holt & Yolanda Williams from COMPUTER SYSTEMS INSTITUTE will be giving a presentation to interested AOEC Junior and Senior students on "Life After High School" and "How to prepare yourself for Job Interviews".  This should be very informative to all who attend.

On Thursday, Sept. 16th, at 11:30am and 12:30pm, in the Wixom Auditorium, Mr. David McGuire from LINCOLN TECH will be giving a presentation to all interested AOEC Junior and Senior students about the programs they offer.
