Dear families,

Thank you for your interest in Andrew Cooke Magnet School for the Fine Arts and Science.  We are a public school serving all of the families that live within School District #60 boundaries. Our attendance is based on an application, teacher recommendations, and testing. We also look for children who are interested in pursuing the fine arts and/or science.  All of our students take drama and dance during the course of the year as well as music and visual arts. Band lessons begin in fourth grade and orchestra begins for our students in first grade.  Almost 100% of our children play an instrument. We have a full time science teacher and a lab.  Four years ago we renovated our greenhouse and it is now an integral part of our science curriculum.

I invite you to pick up and complete an application, and make an appointment to have your child tested on either Saturday, January 26^th or Saturday, February 2^nd, 2013.  If any other language besides English is spoken at home, please contact the Welcome Center at 847-263-2121 to set up an appointment for the required language test. 

This must be done prior to testing at Cooke Magnet School.

• Prospective kindergarteners that speak another language at home besides English MUST make an appointment at the Welcome Center prior to testing. The ELL Language assessor’s phone number is 847-263-2121. These testing results must accompany you and your child when you come to Cooke Magnet School for testing.
