On February 20, 2012, the Fine Arts and Science team was featured in the weekly Superintendent's Bulletin. The Fine Arts and Science Team at Cooke Magnet School consists of: Kristin Stone, music teacher; Rebecca Voight, -intervention and drama; Jared Rathge, physical education and dance; Judith Bamshad, visual arts; Ashley Walker, part time band; Katie Dudley, orchestra; and Todd Freer, science.
The team was nominated for this week’s Spotlight in recognition of the profound amount of time they dedicate to Cooke’s student body both in and out of the classroom. The team works together to arrange and organize a multitude of assembly programs, the school’s science fair, school-wide theater field trips, plays, student talent shows, staff variety shows, orchestra and band concerts, and many more events. They do all of this with an incredible amount of teamwork, energy and motivation. The group works together fluidly to assure that each member has the time and resources to contribute his or her best effort. It is common to see members of the Fine Arts and Science Team working late after school and even on the weekends, and during summer vacation. “Cooke is a fine arts and science magnet school, and these staff members really make it what it is. You don’t even have to ask them to do things, they just do them.” ~ Nan Heim
