Busing Procedure

Students will line up for their buses on the far west parking lot.

Please note: Only children assigned to a specific bus may ride on that bus. Also all children must have their bus pass to ride their school bus.

Bus Regulations

Riding the bus is a privilege. Improper conduct on the bus will result in bus privileges being revoked. When riding privileges are revoked, Illinois State Law still requires students to attend school regularly. Parents are responsible for the transportation of the child to school. If the child does not attend school during a period of bus suspension, the truant officer will be contacted; most importantly children lose precious learning experiences.

Overcrowding

Please be aware that there is the possibility of your child being send to another school due to overcrowding.

If overcrowding occurs, the following steps are utilized to decide on student priority:

  • Returned mail-in registration forms with fee payment by designated due date
  • Date and time of registration
  • Language levels for Bilingual students

Daily School Schedule

9:05 AM Teachers escort students from appropriate outside entrance

Behavior

The development of appropriate behavior is based on the concept that acceptable behavior is as necessary to the development of the child as are the development of reading and math skills.

The basic philosophy and rationale of Little Fort's discipline procedures will be pertinent and contingent to guiding our young people into meeting the demands of a compassionate as well as cooperative society. All disciplinary situations will be administered with dignity and professionalism. See Discipline Web Page for more information.

Supervision

If your child fights or continually disrupts the learning environment he/she will be suspended from school. In addition to suspension, parent conference, social work and/or behavior interventions may be utilized as methods to remediate the child's inappropriate behavior.
