Service is provided in a wide variety of disability areas:
- fluency (stuttering)
- voice (vocal nodules, vocal abuse)
- articulation/phonological disorder/delay
- expressive and receptive language disorder/delay
- augmentative and alternative communication
- deaf and hard of hearing
- cognitive impairments
- pragmatics (social language)
- cleft palate
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- learning disabilities
- emotional-behavioral disabilities
Speech and Language services shall include, but are not limited to:
- Screening, diagnosis and appraisal of specific speech and language impairments
- Identification of children with speech and/or language impairments
- Referral and follow-up for medical or other professional attention necessary for the habilitation of speech and language impairments
- Planning and developing interventions and programs for children or youth with speech and language impairments
- Provisions of services for the habilitation and prevention of speech and language impairments as it relates to successfully accessing the academic curriculum
- Counseling and guidance of parents, children, and teachers regarding speech and language impairments.
