The SHINE Educational Leadership program is a 10 month comprehensive career and college preparation program for low-income seniors at Waukegan High School.

The SHINE program provides leadership development, post-secondary education preparation, and occupational training opportunities for SHINE Students at Waukegan High School. Students are assisted with college applications, scholarships and financial aid.

Students work in-house at Waukegan High School throughout their senior year for career development and employment training. Students are off site for the Robert Morris University Running Start Program where they will earn a total of 8 College Credits during their Senior year.

SHINE students participate in a 300 hour paid internship program during second semester and through the summer. After graduation students will be enrolled full-time in post-secondary education and/or be placed in employment in their identified career sector the following fall.
